June 14, 2018

A lot of consumers use credit cards not just while traveling, but also for booking airline tickets, making reservations at hotels, and much more. There are several advantages that credit cards offer. Firstly, you don’t need to carry bundles of cash with you on long journeys. Secondly, you can avail of the many benefits that card companies offer to those who use credit cards, such as discounts on airfares and hotel bookings.

Here is a list of credit cards especially advantageous to those who travel frequently.

You stand to receive 50,000 points if you spend $4,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening. This translates into $625 toward travel when you redeem through Chase Ultimate Rewards. Other than that, you get 2X points on travel and dining at restaurants worldwide, and 1 point per dollar spent on all other purchases. You also get 1:1 points transferred to leading airline and hotel loyalty programs. If you use your earned points to book travel through Chase Ultimate Rewards, then they are worth 25% more. There are no foreign transaction fees, blackout dates or travel restrictions – as long as there is a seat on the flight, you can book it.

The APR for this card varies between 17.49% - 24.49%. While there is no annual fee for the first year, from the second year you will be asked to pay $95 per year.

These miles have no expiration date and can be redeemed for credit against most travel expenses without worrying about any minimum redemption amount.  The card offers a one-time bonus of 50,000 miles once you spend $3,000 on purchases within 3 months from account opening, which translates to $500 in travel.
