Many cards offer buyer protection. When you have this feature and purchase an item that is not satisfactory, the card company basically becomes your advocate. Return Protection is used if a merchant will not let the cardholder return merchandise inside of 90 days. Purchase Protection covers the cardholder if a purchased item is stolen or accidentally damaged. Finally, some cards offer a Warranty Extension, which can extend the manufacturer's warranty for additional time if the purchase was made using the issuer's card.
