What's included in your credit report

As mentioned earlier, each credit bureau has its own criteria upon which you are judged. However, the same basic rules pertain to all three.

For starters, your personal information is included, including your name, Social Security number, street address and employment information.

"Public records" are also included. Items such as foreclosures, bankruptcies, lawsuits, liens and judgments can be found in your report – as well as data on overdue debt from collection agencies.
